Welcome
This web site presents RCC Risk Communication Concepts' comprehensive counselling program focusing on risk communication and Whistleblowing. Here we find ourselves at the interface between business and law, politics and administration, management and criminal justice. Years after international agreements and the corresponding legislation came into force abroad, the term and the underlying processes also began to be discussed in Germany. At the same time there have always existed responsible persons who have wanted to point out considerable risks so that a problem could be treated in time. We all know the ancient Greek story in which the bearer of bad tidings comes into danger of being taken for the problem himself and to suffer accordingly. External whistleblowers may find themselves in the focus of a scandal, rather than the circumstances to which they had wanted to raise attention.
In 2007 the German Parliament is likely to consider measures which can assure that internally known risks can not be ignored and that those who step forward with information will be encouraged rather than face possible persecution. International experience, occasionally with rather useful legislation in some English-speaking countries, suggests that those involved – organisations or individuals - remain obligated to protect themselves and seek counsel and in particular to find structured prevention. You will certainly find here steps towards your own useful approach.
Essentially it is all about the correct treatment of risks. You will not find the very quick answers, but probably practical and valuable suggestions for yourself or ways to improve your organisation. The ideas presented on this web site are intended to be non-adversarial while naming causes and consequences. For convenience there are buttons for quick access to the special offers to enterprises and other organisations or works councils, as well as to the separate but intertwined subjects of mediation and organisational counsel. The sections are written to be read separately but can also be read as one text. They represent a concept and cannot replace individual advice. Experiences and observations on which this concept is based come from a German international background. The English version of the website is therefore designed for German organisations and their dependents operating in an international environment. Inasmuch as a specific legal system is not addressed, anyone looking for more constructive ways to deal with risk communication is likely to find useful hints.
Many, who take a look at the subject of risk communication and whistleblowing for the first time, may already find themselves in a situation that could soon threaten their very existence, and this goes for organisations as well as individuals. Especially in such crisis, please do not hesitate to seek counsel.
